The Agoura Hills Planning Commission recently altered the city's year-old sign ordinance--loosening up and tightening some elements here and there.
Seven types of changes were made, from simple definitions in the code to the more contentious issue of how much window space can be covered with advertisements.
The amount of space allowed for window signs for special events, sales and other promotions has caused confusion among residents and officials alike. In response to this, commissioners fine-tuned the law to allow the 25 percent to be calculated on the total window space covered rather than pane by pane.
